¡¡¡¡On Dec. 28, 2005, the first national expressway connecting
China and Asean¡ªNanyou Expressway, has been open to traffic, from
Nanning City of Guangxi Province to Youyiguan of Vietnam.
The Nanyou expressway is one of the mains parts of the national
way from Hengyang to Kunming, which is one of the trunks of national
ways as planed as ¡°five verticals and seven horizontals¡±, also it
is the most convenient international landway from China to Vietnam
and even Southeast Asia, so it is praised as ¡°the No.1 road of south
China¡±. The line is from Wuyu of Nanning City, joining expressway
of Nanning Airport, to Youyiguan on the border of China and Vietnam,
stretching to Vietnam No.1 Road. The total length of the road is
179.2 km, with 4 lanes of bi-direction. The total investment of
the project values RMB 3.714 billion Yuan, and it will be helpful
in impelling the establishment of Sino-Vietnam free trade zones.
